This Page is dedicated to my father for helping me build my first car, enjoy the photos.  Allow me to introduce myself, name is Patrick Basten and I am a car nut and proud of it. I started rebuilding this truck back in 1992 and finished around late 1994.

My pride and joy is a hotrod called "taz". Under the is a 289 V8 out of a 1967 Ford Galaxy 500, as for the box, it is off a 1987 Ford Ranger.  I am still working on the truck, it is never considered finished.  Some of the upgrades include:
- Power Disk breaks in the front, drums in the back
- Rack and pinion Power steering on a 3" drop front straight axel (this was an interesting kit, in hind site I should have installed a Mustang II IFS system)
- Original Gauges working with V8 engine
- Original steering wheel working with power steering

In the near future I plan on installing the original 1950 pickup box ... I already have a set of original rear fenders. I am also planning on installing a EFI kit of some sort.

For a point of reference of the old stock 2 Bbl performance, I took my Hotrod to the local drag strip.  I could only pull a 17.56 in the quarter mile:
